Seisaku Sunakawa, Managing Director of WiDe ESTATE, says…Our company wanted to open an office in Tokyo, so we became a member of QBC. As we completed the application process before we arrived in Tokyo, we could use the office facilities at QBC and start marketing activities as soon as we got there. We put QBC’s address on our website, brochures and business cards. There is also a dedicated landline for our company and we take advantage of the secretarial service. This service is really helpful when we stay in Tokyo during business trips. The business lounge is a really nice and bright place. I often use the area for checking emails and having business meetings. If I need a more private space, we book a conference room and when we want to involve people from overseas, a Skype meeting with the monitor screen is really handy.
We have successfully secured new business after joining QBC and I’m confident that we will create more business opportunities in Japan. I am strongly hoping to develop more business between Queensland and Japan by using QBC as our business base.
Yayoi Ashikaga, Managing Director of AOM, says…
We relocated our office to QBC in March 2014. As we specialise in Australia and New Zealand visa consulting, the relocation to QBC made it easier to cooperate with the Australian and Queensland Office in Japan and Tourism Australia in client support. In addition, becoming closer to the Australian Embassy was also a great advantage, since I regularly visit the embassy as part of my work.
There are a large number of companies around this area and this is reflected by the increase in the number of our corporate clients visiting QBC, compared to the number of visitors to our former office. I believe the opening of the Toranomon Hills complex will increase the importance of this area as a base of new business in Tokyo.
Moreover, the service of QBC we are the most satisfied with is the telephone system. We are making great use of the system because it allows you to receive phone calls anywhere. In addition, the concierge service is very helpful as I often work away from the office. As we also support internships for students, we would like to take advantage of the office space and hold seminars and events in the near future.
Yuko Harding, Lawyer at Harding Legal, says…
Harding Legal is a law firm based at Australia’s Gold Coast helping Japanese clients with their legal matters in Australia. QBC has made it possible for me to use my time wisely during my short business trips to Japan by enabling myself to access the meeting rooms at the QBC in Tokyo, whereas I used to meet each client at various locations.
QBC has enabled me to have a central-based office where my clients will be able to meet with me. I feel that this will be more productive for myself and my clients. Furthermore, all of my clients have said that the QBC is extremely accessible and the concierge has been and is always very helpful.
We asked Chris Whitecross, Managing Director of Arrowdynamics® Pty Ltd., about QBC.
-Outline of Chris’ Tokyo visit
Chris visited Tokyo in November 2013 to promote his business in Japan. As a successful company based on the Gold Coast specialising in training programs and workshops for managers and employees, Chris’ next goal is to deliver his programs in Japan. During his seven days in Tokyo, Chris used the QBC facility as his main office. The QBC lounge space was used as the main venue for his introductory seminars. In addition, several conferences with potential clients were arranged by Global Sky Group.
Chris chose QBC and Global Sky to assist with his challenge of entering the Japanese market, finding the full business support valuable for his move into a new market.
“QBC has supported me through marketing, contacting clients, advertising the seminars and facilitating meetings. With the language barrier and my business not recognised in Japan, I feel it important to have a Japanese partner to help get the most out of my visit,” Chris said.
The relationship and support continues, with Chris returning to Japan to follow up with the potential clients he met during the previous visit. QBC staff are thrilled to have him back as our member!
